Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications for teaching Continuing Education courses vary based on the subject being taught. In most cases, the minimum qualifications would consist of proven knowledge of the subject and the appropriate educational credential, if applicable. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong computer skills and commitment to the use of technology in instruction. Ability to work effectively and collegially with others in a team environment.
Availability of contract hours and schedule (day/evening/online) is dependent on need for future semesters..

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching varying schedules to a diverse student body in accordance with the established syllabi, at a variety of locations, utilizing technology, and using a variety of teaching methods in instruction. While we may not have an immediate opening, we appreciate your submission for future needs. Your information is placed into a "pool" this means the interview/employment process will not begin until an adjunct faculty need exists.
Promotes College mission, values, and vision (see ACC's web page). Teaches assigned courses to meet program needs including, but not limited to, day, evening, weekend, and online courses. Evaluates student progress and provides appropriate feedback. Develops course syllabi and provides appropriate written information to students concerning course evaluation and criteria. Uses and promotes appropriate technology to enhance student learning outcomes. Carries out a program of self-evaluation to determine instructional effectiveness. Assists in the evaluation of courses and programs. Prepares and submits instructional records, reports, and grades established by institutional policy. Assists in student recruitment and retention. Maintains accessibility to students, faculty and staff. Performs other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College.
Position Description
Instructors are needed to teach courses and/or workshops in a variety of subject areas. Individuals are encouraged to contact the College to express interest to teaching topics which may be needed or of interest to members of Alamance County communities. This position reports directly to a Coordinator or Program Director in the Continuing Education – Workforce Dept. Courses can be offered during the day, evening, or weekend hours.
