Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with and maintain positive working relationships with students, peers, supervisors and staff
Working knowledge of MS Office products
Ability to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning
Ability to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently
Strong organizational skills
Ability to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
North Carolina Code Officials Qualification Board Level lll Certification in the discipline to be taught (Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical)
North Carolina Code Officials Qualification Board Instructor Certification
Preferred Qualifications
Preferences:
Bachelor's Degree
5 years of teaching experience in the technical area to be taught
5 years of work experience as an inspector
Position Description
Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach Inspection courses in Workforce Continuing Education Services. Openings in various areas may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions):

*Delivers instruction that reflects appropriate learning outcomes consistent with the most current industry standards
*Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
*Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
*Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
*Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
Uses formative and summative assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction
Maintains communication with course committee instructors and participates in instructional discussions
Remains up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology
Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
Supports the Department, Division, and College goals, providing requesting data in a timely manner
