Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma
  • Must be willing to work weekends, nights, and some early mornings – based on event schedule
  • Must be a team player, dependable, self-motivated, and able to perform duties assigned without direct supervision. Being approachable to answer questions during an event from a client; Customer Service skills
  • Ability to speak effectively and demonstrate customer service skills with customers, students, faculty, and co-workers.
  • Familiar with live audio.
  • Familiar with stage lighting (DMX & Bates Connectors).
  • Ability to read stage plots and input lists.
  • Able to work with digital and analog audio consoles.
  • The knowledge base of safety protocols in the theater.
  • Basic Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience in sound, audio, and visual equipment

 

Position Description

Responsible for supervising the audiovisual and technological functions of the Walker Center

The position reports directly to the Director of the Walker Center

Job Duties

  1. Operates and/or helps supervise the operation of lighting, sound, and other systems for the wide range of production genres for events at the Walker Center
  2. Maintain a reliable system for providing technical support for all programs and events.
  3. Ensure all productions are distraction-free and technically well-supported by various support roles
  4. Inventory and purchase of necessary tools, equipment, and supplies for theater operations with the approval of the supervisor.
  5. Maintains tools and equipment in good working order by making minor repairs.
  6. Maintains a high level of professionalism in the delivery of technical production and customer service.
  7. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Walker Center.
