Teach contextualized literacy, math, career exploration, and life skills to adults with intellectual disabilities or those functioning at a lower academic level.  This class runs year round, with daytime hours.  Specific responsibilities include planning, organizing, and developing and delivering lessons and units of instruction to help students improve functional and academic proficiency; monitoring student growth throughout each instructional session and keeping necessary class records to document student attendance and progress.

Salary:  Based on education and experience.  16 - 25 hours per week, depending upon class schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year institution is required; a degree in education is preferred.  A minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience is required and special education teaching experience is preferred.

Official transcripts, including other documentation verifying all reported educational qualifications, are required.  Unofficial transcripts will be accepted for application purposes. The successful candidate must provide official transcripts at his or her expense within thirty (30) days of being notified of selection.
