- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Human Resources or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in human resources, with working knowledge of employee benefits, employee wellness, work culture, and employment laws, such as EEO, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Minimum of 3 years’ leading DEI initiatives and programs
- Experience in developing and implementing professional development and DEI strategies.

Summary:
The People Operations Partner provides professional support in various functions of human resources at CFCC. This role is responsible for the following HR functional areas: Benefits & Leave Administration and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). This position leads and advances CFCC’s college culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Leads all employee benefits and leave of absence administration including retirement.
-Serves as the DEI leader for CFCC
-Responsible for oversight of the DEI program including development training, leading initiatives to create and foster an open and inclusive environment at the college
Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Benefits Administration/Employee Care:
- Administers benefits programs
- Processes changes to employee benefits, reconciles billing for employee benefits, communicates with vendors and employees regarding benefits.
- Organize annual optional benefits open-enrollment through inter-departmental coordination
- Administers Leave of Absence Programs including FMLA, Short-Term and Long-Term disability. Administers the Shared Leave Program.
- Tracks and identifies ACA eligibility; process ACA 1094 and 1095 forms
- Coordinates employee benefits and health fair
- Administers TSERS retirement program
- Processes retirement and disability paperwork.
- Conducts retirement consult meetings with employees and exit interviews with separating employees
- Acts in an official capacity as a “Health Benefit Representative” (HBR for the NC State Health Plan)
- Maintain relationships with the benefit broker(s) of record and ensure online benefit enrollment systems are working effectively with the Payroll/HRIS system
- Maintains and files employee correspondence, benefit files, and other records
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:
- Leads efforts to develop and sustain an organizational culture of belonging, inclusive excellence, and employee care through employee development, performance development, and organizational communication
- Lead, support, implement and promote CFCC’s DEI strategic plan.
- Monitor CFCC’s DEI progress and action plan
- Identify goals, gaps, and plans of action to achieve metrics
- Create roadmap for initiatives to ensure a sustainable DEI program throughout the college
- Monitor CFCC’s DEI progress and action plan
- Collaborate with colleagues to build, encourage, and incorporate DEI competencies and/or programs across the college
- Plans and deliver communications for DEI activities and events with employees, administrators, community partners, etc. May assist is planning activities/events
- Develops and delivers training to employees on a variety of DEI subjects
- Collaborates with marketing on DEI materials and related branding documents
- Collaborates with Student Success Diversity Coordinator for campus-wide activities
Other Responsibilities:
- Assists with a variety of special HR projects as needed
- Assists HR Team with compliance reporting and data management as needed
- Serves on and/or leads various committees as requested
- Collaborate with other NC Community Colleges to learn best practices.
- Serves as a back-up to the HR Director.
- Other duties as assigned.
