Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in business, accounting or related field, and/OR three-five years of equivalent experience; minimum of one year of retail management experience; experience with a point-of-sale system, inventory control, and customer service. Ability to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis. Possess a valid NC driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor degree in business, accounting or related field; three to five years retail management experience; supervisory experience; experience in a college bookstore.

Position Description

Ability to work with vendors to stock supplies and general merchandise on both campuses.
 
Serve as liaison between the college and students, and the virtual bookstore vendor.
 
Train, instruct, schedule and direct the performance of bookstore employees and work study students.
 
Prepare and review daily sales report to analyze store profitability and submit to the Business Office.
 
Responsible for receiving and verifying all deliveries.
 
Responsible for submitting and scanning invoices for payment to Accounts Payable.
 
Ensure that both campuses maintain a clean and orderly store. 
 
Recommend and evaluate marketing strategies for the bookstore.
 
Responsible for the efficient maintenance of textbook and supply inventories for ECPS Early College and dual-enrolled students, including purchasing decisions that accomplish the most economical price for quantities ordered. 
 
Perform inventory counts annually, on or near June 30, in accordance with established inventory procedures. 
 
Implement strategies to minimize inventories of damaged goods and slow selling merchandise.
 
Conduct performance evaluations on all bookstore personnel per institutional guidelines.
 
Perform other duties as assigned which contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the College.
