Minimum Qualifications
Current Pharmacy Technician Certification with 3-5 years’ experience as a practicing Pharmacy Technician. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Publisher.
Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable of all the mandated rules and regulations. Qualified candidates must have computer skills and have the knowledge to submit all required paperwork to the College. Be willing to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth, demonstrate evidence of flexibility and willingness to change, and have an open-mind and fairness towards other faculty, staff, and students.
Preferred Qualifications
An Associate’s Degree in Science or comparable degree is preferred but not mandatory.
Position Description
- Plan, organize, promote and teach precertification Pharmacy Technician CE courses (class, ab and clinical if needed) for the college day, evening and online as required.
- Serve as Liaison for Pharmacy Technician Continuing Education Training.
- Assure the program meets standards established by the College and the certifying entities.
- Assist in the preparation of students for licensure and certification.
- Implement and assess identified student learning outcomes.
- Supervise instructional functions and student activities assigned in the classroom and lab.
- Maintain appropriate records for certifications, credentials and licenses.
- Ensure instructional resources are being utilized efficiently and effectively.
- Teach the curriculum with a focus on preparing students to enter the workforce.
- Provide instruction through non-traditional methods that employ a variety of techniques and simulations.
- Responsible for assisting with the overall operation of the Pharmacy Technician Program.
- Foster meaningful relationships with internal and external partners to effectively carry out the purpose of the office.
- Attend and participate in any professional development offerings, workshops, seminars, and support services as assigned by the college and or accrediting body
- Perform all instruction related duties in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the College, NCCCS and the PTCB.
- Participate in program level assessment and planning.
- Serve on college committees as requested.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
