Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree. Licensure as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant in North Carolina with a minimum 3 years clinical experience that includes the PT/PTA relationship. Experience in didactic and/or clinical teaching and administration. Communication, both oral and written, and computer skills are essential. Must have expert efficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). Applicants not meeting this minimum requirement will not be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience at the community college or four-year college. On-line teaching experience.

Announcement Summary

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this Exempt full time position. The Physical Therapist Assistant program is a nationally accredited program. Faculty team members are responsible for exhibiting leadership skills by role-modeling professionalism, participating in cooperative team efforts, using effective communication strategies, employing efficient planning, organization, and time management, and demonstrating skilled classroom, lab, and clinical instruction. Excellent computer skills, including a working knowledge of online learning environments, are essential to this position. Qualified candidates will possess clinical expertise in the field of physical therapy, excellent communication skills, computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences, and a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and possess the ability to see multiple perspectives; be willing to take risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.

Duties

Provide quality instruction for face-to-face, online, and blended classes according to approved course syllabi to include day, evening, and weekend instruction both on and off campus as needed by the Department.

Incorporate innovative teaching strategies and interactive learning technologies in course delivery to include classroom, skills lab, simulation, and clinical settings.

Participate in student recruitment efforts and advisement and other tasks to increase and sustain enrollment and retention.

Provide quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff.

Maintain the standards of the Accreditation Commission within the program by observing all institutional and departmental policies and procedures.

Assist in program and curriculum review, assessment, revision, and development by participating in faculty committees and other activities, as assigned.

Periodically evaluate and develop new courses. Revise and update existing courses for relevancy and currency consistent with the role and mission of the college.

Maintain face-to-face and/or online classroom environments conducive to student centered learning, engagement, and retention.

Maintain accurate scholastic and membership records of students enrolled in classes and prepare and submit reports as required.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge in teaching field through continual professional development.

Participate in faculty committees and other activities, as assigned.
