Position Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
The PT Pipefitting Instructor will prepare students for a successful career through instruction on: pipefitting hand and power tools, oxyfuel cutting, ladders and scaffolds, motorized equipment, piping systems, drawings and detail sheets, identifying and installing valves, pipefitting trade math, threaded pipe fabrication, socket weld pipe fabrication, butt weld pipe fabrication, excavations, underground pipe installation, and other areas as needed. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: classroom instruction, delivery of project-based learning activities, assessment, examination and grading.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares and updates material/outlines.
- Provides traditional lecture and project-based learning activities.
- Prepares course objectives following industry standards and applicable requirements.
- Plans and documents a program of study that meets the needs and abilities of students.
- Provides instruction using handouts, texts, audiovisual, and project-based learning.
- Requires accurate attendance and timely end of course paperwork.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
