Minimum Qualifications
Best practices and operation of Audio-Visual technologies and support.
Video conferencing systems, routers, controllers, displays and devices. This could require rebooting of systems and devices.
Understanding of audio and video signal flow and troubleshooting.
Ability to contact partner agencies like: Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) or Microelectronics Center of North Carolina (MCNC) to facilitate proper video and audio connection.
Proper and safe use of technologies.
Trains and supervises students and staff.
Interprets and applies department policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.
Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
*Must have valid NC DL and have transportation to FTCC main campus or satellite campuses to provide classroom and technical support.

Duties
Successfully sets up audio/visual technologies in classroom based upon instructors’ direction and provides technical assistance to instructor and students.
Receives direct supervision from the Director of Media Services and receives technical and functional supervision by the Audio-Visual Engineer.
Arrives to class promptly half an hour before class and sets up room technologies.
Assists instructional staff with classroom technologies and technical support.
Trains and supervises assigned staff on how to use the technologies in the classroom.
Supervises and participates in the general maintenance of equipment; uses proper procedures in starting and shutting down all equipment and technologies.
Informs the Audio-Visual Engineer or Director of Media Services if equipment is not operating properly, needs troubleshooting or repair.
