Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in Master’s Degree in Nursing Program.
A minimum of two years experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse.
Must have current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in North Carolina.
Qualified applicant must have begun or completed the Hepatitis B series and must have begun and remain current with required immunizations and current CPR.
Communication, both oral and written, skills necessary. Must have efficiency in Microsoft Office ( Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
Preferred Qualifications
2 years teaching experience at the community college or four-year college. On-line teaching experience.

Announcement Summary
Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this full time Instructor position. The ability to effectively work with a team in providing nursing education to Practical Nursing Students is critical to experiencing success in this position. Experience in classroom and clinical teaching, curriculum design, and use of technology is essential to this position. Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences and a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and possess the ability to see multiple perspectives; be willing to take and manage risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
The Practical Nursing curriculum provides knowledge and skills to integrate safety and quality into nursing care to meet the needs of the holistic individual which impact health, quality of life, and achievement of potential. Course work includes and builds upon the domains of healthcare, nursing practice, and the holistic individual. Content emphasizes safe, individualized nursing care, and participation in the interdisciplinary team employing evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and informatics. Graduates are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN), which is required for practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Employment opportunities include hospitals, rehabilitation/long term care/home health facilities, clinics, and physicians’ offices.
Duties
Provide quality instruction for face-to-face, online, and blended classes according to approved course syllabi to include day, evening, and weekend instruction both on and off campus as needed by the Department.
Incorporate innovative teaching strategies and interactive learning technologies in course delivery to include classroom, skills lab, simulation, and clinical settings.
Participate in student recruitment efforts and advisement for increased enrollment and retention.
Assist in the design and update of course syllabi, outlines, lesson plans, curriculum review, revision and development.
Provide recommendations for program changes based on industry trends and input from the advisory board.
Provide input on program review, assessment, and other departmental activities.
Periodically evaluate and develop new courses. Revise and update existing courses for relevancy and currency consistent with the role and mission of the college.
Evaluate classroom and practical instruction and make necessary improvements.
Maintain face-to-face and/or online classroom environments conducive to student learning, engagement, and retention.
Maintain accurate scholastic and membership records of students enrolled in classes and prepare and submit reports as required.
Continually develop and improve skills through professional development.
Complete all instructional responsibilities, as explained in the job description for instructional faculty.
Provide quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
Develop and maintain community relationships that support the mission of the College and the program.
Participate in faculty committees and other activities as assigned.
