Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Services, Counseling, Psychology or Social Work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current licensed counselor.
- Teaching and/or counseling experience preferably in a community college setting.
- Experience with learning management systems (Blackboard preferred) and information management systems (Colleague preferred).
Position Description
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking a dedicated and innovative professional to serve as the Program Chair for our Human Services Technology program. This position is a full-time (9+3) faculty role responsible for the administrative management of the Human Services Technology Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree, starting with a concentration in Substance Abuse Studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Administration: Oversee the Human Services Technology program, ensuring its successful implementation and growth.
- Faculty Supervision: Supervise both full-time and part-time faculty within the program.
- Resource Management: Efficiently manage program resources, including budget, equipment, and materials.
- Facility Coordination: Coordinate the use of college facilities to support program needs.
- Curriculum Development: Create and develop new course content to keep the program current and relevant.
- Community Engagement: Establish and maintain connections with the community, including local agencies and organizations relevant to human services and substance abuse.
- Advisory Board: Form and lead an advisory board composed of local stakeholders to guide program development and ensure alignment with community needs.
- Collaboration: Work under the supervision of the Dean of Arts and Sciences to achieve program goals and contribute to the broader mission of the college.
