Bachelor’s degree required. A minimum of four years’ experience in law enforcement as a sworn officer. North Carolina Criminal Justice General Instructor Certification.
Communication, both oral and written, skills necessary. Must have expert efficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
Teaching experience at the community college or four-year college. On-line teaching experience. Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or Master degree with 18 hours in Criminal Justice.
Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this full-time position. Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of a career that includes flexibility and willingness to change; open-mindedness, fairness and the ability to see multiple perspectives; a willingness to take risks, and willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
Develop courses, certification programs and other educational programs designed to meet the training needs of law enforcement;
Schedule courses and provides publicity for courses and programs;
Hire part-time instructors to teach classes;
Recruit and advise students;
Develop course syllabi, outlines and lesson plans for courses assigned and assists instructors with development of material
Teach courses for Corporate and Continuing Education and Basic Law Enforcement Training as needed;
Certify all courses; compiles reports and processes forms and documents;
Order instructional materials and supplies.
Teach face-to-face classes to include days, evenings, and weekends both on and off campus.
Teach online classes as needed by the Department.
Participate in faculty committees and other activities, as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
