Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability and willingness to quickly learn new data management systems and software

Proven ability to utilize data to make recommendations for programmatic improvements

Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Ability to problem solve, think logically, and troubleshoot issues

Ability to guide others in making decisions

Ability to create tools and workflows which streamline processes, and proactively identify and prevents errors allowing for better informed, data-driven decision making

Ability to train individuals with wide varying levels of computer skills and knowledge

Ability and willingness to work on occasional evenings and Saturdays

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 
Intermediate to advanced skill level and experience with MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint (or other presentation software tools)

Requirements:

Bachelors' degree

Two years of experience with data collection, management, and reporting using standard tools and/or software for statistical analysis (such as Excel, SAS, and/or other tools or software)
 
Two years of experience analyzing, interpreting, evaluating, data and presenting findings to others

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors' degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, or related field

Experience working in the NC Community College System, or within another community college or post-secondary educational environment

Experience with extracting and analyzing Colleague data

Experience with writing Entrinisk Informer reports, or writing queries using other business intelligence and data analytics solutions

Advanced skill level and experience with MS Excel, including but not limited to formulas, pivot tables, macros, and charts

Experience with implementing and monitoring Web Attendance
 
Experience with Literacy Education Information System (LEIS)

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Expert or Master Certification

Position Description

Pay Grade: Professional 4

This position provides data extraction, data analysis, and technical expertise support to faculty, staff, instructional supervisors, program directors, and the Dean of College and Career Readiness (CCR). It functions in a consultative role, under the direction of the Director of Program Performance and Accountability, in providing service area management to maximize accountability, support compliance, and achieve established state and federal performance objectives.
 

 

 Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions):

*Monitors web attendance processes, analyzes web attendance data and develops web attendance auditing tools and processes to identify and prevent compliance issues.  More specifically:  creates weekly reports summarizing enrollment, attendance, FTE, and program performance data and disseminates them to instructional supervisors, program directors, and the CCR dean; and identifies issues with the accuracy and timeliness of web attendance entries and communicates issues with appropriate instructional supervisors and program directors.

*Prepares, processes, and archives monthly Professional Activity Reports (PAR's) for all CCR employees in compliance with federal and state time and effort reporting requirements

* Trains faculty and staff to use the web attendance system and to utilize the support tools and processes developed by the technologist

*Independently analyzes CCR data, identifies data/data collection problems and proposes plans to address identified problems

*Proactively works with the Workforce Continuing Education (WCE) Registrar's Office to ensure program compliance with state and college guidelines as well as develops strategies to streamline processes to simultaneously meet the needs of the CCR division and the Registrar's Office
 
Works collaboratively with CCR technical assistants, the WCE Registrar's Office, and WCE Internal Auditor to facilitate, monitor, and track the end of course (EOC) process

Identifies issues with student registrations and works collaboratively with the LEIS team, Intake Specialists, and the WCE Registrar's office to resolve errors

Assists with researching and staying abreast of new accountability regulations, trends and methodology

Works with the CCR dean and program directors to develop strategies and implement processes to address state and federal performance measure shortfalls and challenges

Conducts periodic training workshops to promote awareness of divisional services and the college's accountability measures

Participates in local and statewide performance and data management training 

Participates in departmental and college-wide professional development activities and proactively seeks out external opportunities to facilitate professional growth

Serves on various committees as assigned by the Director of Program Performance and Accountability

Completes an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis
