Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree from an accredited college or have completed at least two college semesters of coursework.  Must have excellent computer skills, Excellent English, Reading, Math, and Oral, Writing and Communication skills or a combination thereof.  Provide academic transcript showing at least a GPA of 3.0 and have an A or B in the desired, courses.

Prior Tutoring, caseload management experience.

Position Description

In support of the College’s mission, Academic Enrichment Coaches (tutors) strive to meet the diverse needs of the community by providing high quality academic enrichment and tutorial services.   Academic Enrichment Coaches also assist students with challenging coursework and promote engagement, retention, graduation, and the importance of being able to compete in a globally competitive marketplace. 

Examples of Duties:

1. Provide individual and small group tutoring to students

2. Assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with them on a regular basis to clarify learning problems and work on study skills

3. Other assistance might include reviewing class material, discussing the text, predicting test questions, formulating ideas for papers and working on solutions for problems

4. Maintain a weekly schedule of available hours for student appointments 

5. Maintain regular and accurate records of tutoring sessions

6. Attend tutor training sessions

7. Must possess good interpersonal skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural and social backgrounds 

8. Must be reliable and punctual

9. Must be able to assist, evaluate, motivate, develop and integrate students in learning
