DEFINITION:
To provide classroom and/or online instruction to students using multiple teaching strategies and perform accurate assessment of student learning.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives general supervision from Digital Navigator.Exercises no supervision
Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
The College and Career Readiness program seeks instructors to teach adult learners who are building essential digital and computer literacy skills. Specific responsibilities include planning, organizing, and developing lessons and units of instruction to help students improve proficiency in using technology tools; providing instruction in digital skills for students in the College and Career Readiness program; monitoring student growth throughout each instructional session; and keeping necessary class records to document student attendance and progress. Some positions will require evening or weekend availability.
Essential Functions:
Prepare and execute lessons, lectures, activities, and exercises for seated and/or online settings.
Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance. Grade and record individual scores.
Grade and return assignments and post grades in a prompt manner.
Provide prompt and appropriate professional correspondence to students and colleagues.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance. Maintain other records as required.
Other Important Functions:
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
Teaching techniques and procedures.
Current trends, research, and development in the area of digital literacy.
Ability To:
- Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:
- Making observations
- Reading and writing
- Communicating with others
- Operating assigned equipment
- Handling varied tasks simultaneously
- Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:
- Standing or sitting for extended periods of time
- Operating assigned equipment
- Handling varied tasks simultaneously
- Bending, stooping, climbing, or lifting up to 50 pounds
- Maintain mental capacity, which allow the capability of:
- Making sound decisions
- Responding to questions
- Demonstrating intellectual capabilities
