Minimum Qualifications

Twelve hours of college course work with an emphasis in Information Systems or experience and/or training involving instructional technologies, and computer hardware/software support; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Position Description

Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to support personnel in the use of audio, visual and digital display functions. Employees in this classification perform a wide array of tasks including providing AV support to presenter and attendees, ensuring that equipment is operational, development and maintenance of an AV projector maintenance schedule, providing initial trouble-shooting for AV and digital display equipment and user support services.

In response to HelpDesk requests, ensure that audiovisual equipment in meeting rooms are functional for the scheduled event  
Coordinate coverage within OITS as required to provide for coverage of events
As assigned, provide on-site audiovisual technical support for the duration of the event
Provide basic instruction on the operation of audiovisual equipment to event presenters, as necessary
Check functionality of audiovisual equipment in rooms on a prescribed schedule
Inspect presentation area of rooms to ensure they are presentable, tidy, safe, and hazard free and all cables are secured and tidy
Perform lamp-life checks on projectors
Maintain standardized logs of equipment checks, by room
Provide the initial response to issues related to the function of digital displays
Ensure there are appropriate supplies for audiovisual equipment
Assist in inventory of audiovisual equipment
Assists in communicating technology policies, procedures, and guidelines to college employees.
Operates a variety of office equipment such as computer, printer, telephone, calculator, etc.
Uses general office supplies.
Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as immediate supervisor, employees, other departments, college officials, faculty, staff, vendors, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
Performs other duties as directed.
