QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
• Classroom and laboratory instructional techniques and procedures
• Principles and procedures of academic and instructional program development and administration in the area of assignment
• Current trends, research, and development in the area of assignment
• Principles and procedures of record keeping
• Principles and techniques involved in test development and administration
• Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations
Ability to:
• Interpret and apply college goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules and regulations
• Interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, procedures, laws and regulations
• Communicate clearly, and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Establish and maintain cooperative-working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
• Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:
o Making observations
o Reading and writing
o Communicating with others
o Operating assigned equipment
o Handling varied tasks simultaneously

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
Required Education/Experience:
• Associates degree
• Auto Desk Certified User or related professional experience
• 1 year teaching or training experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education/Training, Experience, Skills:
• Three years teaching or training experience
Position Description
DEFINITION:
To provide classroom instruction and online instruction students who may be pursuing a career in engineering, manufacturing, architecture, construction, or interior design; it will also help those interested in home renovations. Courses will be taught through lecture (face to face and/or online), demonstration, laboratory exercises, handouts, responding to questions, and testing. The classes will prepare students to take the Autodesk AutoCAD Certified User Certification exam.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
- Receives supervision from Associate VP of Economic and Workforce Development.
- Exercises no supervision
ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTION STATEMENT:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide classroom and laboratory instruction for AutoCAD Basic, Intermediate or Advanced.
- Prepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activities; develop, and prepare supplemental materials to enhance textbook lessons
- Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance; grade and record individual scores
- Provide classroom demonstrations on various equipment and machinery; develop laboratory assignments to provide hands on experience as appropriate
- Participate in curriculum development, evaluation, and change; attend faculty meetings as required.
- Work the number of hours scheduled by the Workforce Development Department
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, and performance; maintain other records and databases according to program needs or accreditation requirements.
- Stay abreast of new developments, and changes in various academic fields; participate in staff development programs, workshops, seminars, and other continuing education programs as appropriate
- Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures related to required teaching area
Other Important Functions:
- Assess the relevance and impact of various lessons; revise and improve lesson format; evaluate
- Select various text books to be used for future classes
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
