Position Description
Under limited supervision, the part-time position is responsible for delivering Human Resources Development (HRD) training programs for Pitt Community College, within the Continuing Education & Workforce Development Division. Position is responsible for teaching a diverse student population housed at the Pitt County Detention Center. Ideal candidate must have a clean background check, be able to pass a drug test, and have knowledge of target population (i.e., inmate culture).
Delivers training, coaching and counseling related to HRD programs, help participants identify and achieve educational and workplace goals.
Provides both individual and group counseling services for program participants; assesses career development needs of participants and develops strategies to meet indicated needs.
Develops and maintains statistical data on participants to provide ongoing, current status reports for submission to Department of Community Colleges; maintains other required records and documentation relating to program operation.
Receives, reviews, processes, files, and/or submits a variety of documents and reports, including travel reports, performance documents, time sheets, follow-up surveys, forms, and general letters of correspondence.
Operates, utilizes, and maintains various types of equipment and supplies which may include a computer, printer, copier, fax machine, calculator, or telephone; operates a variety of computer software applications associated with work activities.
Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as supervisor, employees, other divisions/departments, faculty, staff, college officials, school counselors, case workers, detention officers, community organizations, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, resolve problems, or give/receive advice/direction.
Performs general clerical tasks, which may include answering telephones, typing documents, making copies, sending/receiving faxes, responding to phone calls and emails.
Work the assigned schedule. Performs related duties as directed.
