Education Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
Education Preferred: Master's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
Experience Minimum: Two or more years' experience in case management, income maintenance, or human services programs; recent work experience providing direct services to clients; experience with the NC FAST computer application and associated processes.
Experience Preferred: More than three years' experience in case management, income maintenance, or human services programs providing direct services to clients; post-secondary teaching experience and/or industry training experience.

Position Description
Summary
Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to provide a comprehensive training course as a pathway into the field of Human Services to the enrolled students at the JCC main campus and possibly off-site campuses. The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, creating lessons, instructing and providing information and strategies necessary for students to develop a clear understanding of the NC FAST (Families Accessing Services through Technology) System, and maintaining accurate administrative records. Must be knowledgeable of federal and state regulations regarding the Department of Health and Human Services, the NC FAST System, and have strong writing and communication skills. Must be able to perform related work as required. Scheduling flexibility required. Position is for seated evening classes. Applicants must be able to teach evening classes.
Knowledge & Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Provides instruction in operating the NC FAST System.
- Prepares lesson plans, lectures, course overviews and course syllabi.
- Selects appropriate learning material for assigned classes.
- Maintains student attendance records, grades, and other required administrative records.
- Follows Johnston Community College policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
