An accredited Bachelor's Degree, preferably in education. Prior teaching experience with adult learners. Must be willing to learn, grow, develop, and apply knowledge and skills acquired from research-based training (NC Content Standards, Appalachian State University, the North Carolina Community College System Office, and beyond).

Position Description
he Professional Development Facilitator (PDF) is under the supervision of the Director of Literacy Education. This position is grant funded and will conclude June 30, 2020. The PDF must survey instructor needs in order to determine appropriate professional development activities, provide appropriate professional development to instructors and staff, assess instructor's knowledge and instructional strategies that meet state performance, increase credential attainment, improves retention and improves contextualized instruction. Assist instructors to complete necessary self-assessments, observe and mentor novice instructors on best practices to encourage students to earn a credential while continuing to work on their basic skills, share state and national training opportunities, and participate in PDF activities.
Develop and submit to the state professional development team, a local professional development plan aligned to the stated goals of the PDF Network, attend face-to-face training and monthly virtual meetings. Complete and submit required state and local documentation relevant to the professional development plan in a timely and efficient manner. Must have a valid NC driver's license and be able to attend local and state-wide mandatory training. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Literacy Education.
