At least one year of experience in Office Administration, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. Excellent verbal and written communicate skills to effectively engage with clients, students, faculty and staff. Proficient in Microsoft applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Meet minimum requirements with Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
Position Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Provide support to the Small Business Center Director to engage aspiring entrepreneurs and existing business owners in Haywood County in SBC services, including one-on-one business advising and small business training events.
*This is position has been revised from a previous posting and will remain open only until filled. The position will work up to 29 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with a flexible schedule based on the needs of the center.*
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Serve as public-facing resource, assisting Director with response to inquiries, completing intakes, and promotion of current SBC programs and services.
- Provide logistical support and planning for training events and workshops, including calendar coordination, event promotion, registration support, event reconciliation, and reporting.
- Assist in dissemination, collection and remittance of Professional Service Agreements for contracted services.
- Support Director with community outreach to help recruit SBC Clients, increasing public knowledge of the educational opportunities and services offered by the SBC.
- Assist in developing effective email and marketing content, including social media, newsletters, press releases, success stories, and other articles for publication.
- Assist Director with reports and documentation necessary to support college and program accreditation and reporting requirements.
- Contribute to the overall success of the SBC by remaining competent and current through self-directed professional reading, and attending annual professional development trainings.
- Maintain strict adherence to confidentiality of student, personnel, and SBC client information.
- Work well independently with ability to prioritize work with limited oversight.
- Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Assist Director as a program liaison for the SBC, occasionally representing the program in the local community.
- Operation of college-owned vehicles.
