Associate’s degree in Physical Therapist Assistance from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
Three (3) years’ full-time post-licensure clinical practice.
Two (2) years’ of clinical practice experience must include experience as a CCCE or CI in physical therapy, or a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in teaching, curriculum development and administration in a PT or PTA program
Preferred Qualifications
Community college or post-secondary education instructional experience.
Bachelor’s degree in related area from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
12 Month Faculty Position
The PTA Clinical Education Coordinator is responsible for developing, conducting and coordinating the off-campus clinical portion of the PTA education program in addition to faculty instructional duties. This position supports the PTA Program Coordinator in achieving accreditation standards and mandates, within the mission of the college. As a full-time faculty member, this position also ensures the quality and integrity of the program through teaching and student learning, professional development, and college service. This position has an instructional workload of 18-20 contact hours per semester, which includes the coordination of clinical classes.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets high and challenging academic standards that are CAPTE compliant, which enhance student educational merit and scholastic performance
- Utilizes multiple instructional delivery and assessment methods to provide an environment that maximizes opportunities for student academic success
- Secures, develops and maintains clinical sites for student rotation(s), which includes student placement, onboarding, monitoring and advising/counseling the students and/or CI(s) as needed
- Ensures student preparedness and compliance for clinical rotation to include but not limited to, orientation, proof of readiness, program manuals and clinical site information
- Manages surveys, reports and interviews regarding clinical rotations by students and CI(s), including distribution, collection, compiling and review
- Maintains a safe and encouraging learning environment that encourages respect, civility, courtesy and humility
- Reviews and edits the Clinical Handbook annually
- Posts and maintains office hours for student appointments
- Participates in appropriate committees and task forces as assigned
- Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College’s mission, core values and goals
