Position Description

In support of the overall Learning College, the Purchasing Assistant will assist with purchasing and other business office functions. 

 

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Provide back-up to Purchaser including but not limited to approving and processing e-requisitions after auditing for completeness, accuracy and adherence to purchasing policies
  2. Assist with the college’s competitive purchasing process
  3. Process, print, sort, distribute and file purchase orders
  4. Process E-Quotes for department purchases as needed
  5. Provide assistance to staff on purchasing inquiries
  6. Assist with purchasing inquiries and requests by departments
  7. Prepare and submit Annual Flexibility Purchasing report
  8. Responsible for submission of quarterly Hub report
  9. Assist with P-card program administration
  10. Assist and maintain Interscope System for Construction projects
  11. Maintain supply room and order supplies as needed
  12. Maintain equipment inventory and conduct annual physical inventory
  13. Administer vehicle rental car program ensuring compliance with college policy and state contract
  14. Assist with registration as needed
  15. Other duties as assigned by Controller or Purchaser

 

Skills and Abilities

  1. Develop an understanding and appreciation of the mission, history, current programs, services and goals of Isothermal Community College
  2. Understand and ensure compliance of internal control measures, processes and procedures as established by the College and outside agencies
  3. Compute for accuracy and record data accurately while working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, students and the college community
  5. Strong organizational and time management skills
  6. Proficient computer skills with knowledge of various software
  7. Strong oral and written communication skills
