Education
Clinical coordinator must possess current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) certification and registration, or equivalent, in radiography.
Holds, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree.
Knowledge and Skills
Clinical coordinator must have a minimum total of three years’ experience, in the professional discipline.
One year’s experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited program.
Licensing Requirement
Certified and Registered Medical Radiographer credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
Valid NC Driver’s License

Position Description
Statement of Primary Purpose
The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organization, administration and review of the effectiveness of the clinical experiences. The Clinical Coordinator assigns students to clinical sites, ensures facility onboarding requirements are satisfactorily met prior to the start of rotations, maintains clinic related documentation and verify students’ clinical performance. The Clinical Coordinator serves as the point of contact for the clinic sites. The Clinical Coordinator will foster positive, professional relations with existing sites and cultivate new clinical sites. In order to achieve this goal, it is expected that the Clinical Coordinator will maintain consistent communication with clinical trainers and make regular visits to the sites where students are being trained.
The Clinical Coordinator also teaches in the classroom, laboratory, and participates in college activities.
This position is required to work the 9-month plus one summer session schedule.
Classification
Curriculum faculty, full-time, exempt.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Maintain credentials as required by accrediting agencies and regulatory bodies.
- Demonstrates and maintains current subject area knowledge.
- Communicate and work with clinical preceptors and clinical staff in a cooperative, professional manner.
- Organizes clinical rotations, and schedules for clinical rotations.
- Facilitates the student clinic onboarding process.
- Serve as the point of contact for clinical facilities.
- Ensure there are sufficient and a variety of clinical sites for students to be places for clinical rotations.
- Maintain clinic related documentation according to accreditation / certification requirements.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and progression of the clinical experience.
- Perform site visits at clinical locations routinely and evaluate student’s performance.
- Work with students in the laboratory to assist them in developing skill proficiencies
- Adhere to academic policies and procedures.
- Maintain teaching course load in compliance with college and accreditation workload policy.
- Prepare and teach assigned courses in accordance with course outlines and published course schedule.
- Maintain accurate records for each course taught
- Appropriately challenge, engage, support and communicate with students to encourage their participation and learning in a professional, respectful environment.
- Assist the program coordinator with curriculum planning and development of courses
- Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus
- Assists with student recruitment, advising and retention.
- Submit all college reports in an accurate, timely fashion
- Assists department with faculty recruitment
- Assists in selection and ordering of equipment, supplies and learning resources.
- Participate in college events and activities
- Attend college commencements
- Serve on college and division committees
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Serve as liaison between Southwestern Community College and the clinical education sites.
- Responsible for the establishment of clinical sites and clinical faculty standards.
- Plan, coordinate, facilitate, administer and monitor activities on behalf of the academic program and in coordination with academic and clinical facility.

Routine travel to regional clinical facilities.
The clinical coordinator should pursue ongoing formal training designed to maintain and upgrade his/her professional instruction and administrative capabilities.
Equipment Operation
Able to demonstrate and operate all equipment required to perform the duties of a Radiography technologist.
