High school diploma and one year of general clerical experience. Applicants not meeting these minimum requirements will not be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate Degree in Office Systems or related field preferred.

Position Description

Announcement Summary

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Records Clerk position for the Military Programs office located at Fort Bragg. The ability to effectively perform varied clerical tasks and provide information to military or military dependent students is critical to achieving success in this position. Expertise in the knowledge of College policies, procedures, rules, and regulations pertaining to records maintenance is essential. Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences and a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and possess the ability to see multiple perspectives; be willing to take risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.

Duties

The successful candidate will:
Participate in student registration activities and provide information and assistance to students regarding the application and registration process, process required forms for admission and matriculation, meet critical deadlines, and perform general program duties.

Participate in the researching of complex problems and discrepancies in records, transcripts, and course schedules.

Prepare weekly, monthly, and term class enrollment, and attendance reports.

Explain general College policies and procedures to students and staff.

Review and evaluate completeness of files and records; request information as needed.

Respond to requests for information and act as liaison to other College departments and divisions on matters of records and registration.

Perform special projects and assignments as needed.

Compose and type routine office correspondence, memoranda, and statistical reports.

Understand and perform record keeping principles and procedures.

Be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Operate standard office machines such as computers, 10-key calculator, photocopy machines, etc.

Perform related duties as assigned.
