Minimum Qualifications

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree 

One year of professional experience in higher education recruitment/admissions, counseling/advising students in an educational setting or a related field 

Valid Driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

Preferences:

College Recruitment

Familiarity with CACRAO, SACRAO or other admissions organizations 

Bilingual English/Spanish
 

Position Description

This Recruitment and Outreach Officer will work with the Recruitment and Outreach team in their efforts to recruit and promote the college's curriculum programs.

 

 Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions):

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.

*Coordinate individual and group campus tours, prospective student information sessions and assist with dual enrollment admissions and registration

*Track applicants from assigned recruitment areas

*Provide college admissions and readiness presentations at various campus and community events

*Responsible for maintaining and building a relationship with the Wake County Public Schools in particular, as well as community organizations in Wake Tech Community College's service area

 *Maintain data base of recruitment and outreach efforts

 *Work with assigned Wake County schools

Assists with Career and College Promise registration, advising, and open lab sessions

 

 Actively promote college preparedness and readiness in Wake County Public Schools through programs designed by Coordinator of Recruitment

 Work with assigned Business Alliance in Wake County Public Schools

 Work to promote college access and readiness through various community outreach efforts

 Assist the Student Services team in various capacities throughout the year

 Develops and directs projects and initiatives to maximize the use of technology to enhance admissions

 Participates in planning, developing, and evaluating e-admissions and outreach initiatives

Evaluate programs attended in the course of recruitment duties

 Attends and reports on state and regional meetings related to testing and online services

 Participates in college-wide and service area activities and events that promote collaboration and cooperation

 Participates in recruiting functions including but not limited to open house, campus tours, outreach functions, and information sessions

 Serves as an Admissions Officer on-call for AIS staff

Respond to online enrollment information inquiries

Assist with administration of Placement Test and other College sponsored tests

Manages on-line reservation system for campus tours, information sessions, etc.

Completes an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis
 

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to travel between campuses on short notice

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Intermediate skills with MS Office products

Excellent communication skills, listening, writing, and speaking

Effective collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving, and team-building skills

Demonstrated abilities and experiences working with a diverse population
