Minimum Qualifications

  • problem solving and analytical skills
  • excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills required
  • ability to use tack and confidentiality in dealing with personal and private matters
  • applicant must have strong PC and hardware skills as well as operating system/application knowledge; including the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel to produce professional documents
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment and motivated to work with little supervision
  • understanding and commitment to open-access community college philosophy, diversity issues and service delivery technology
  • documented proficiency of Windows and Microsoft office products required

Preferred Qualifications

  • an Associate’s Degree in Office Systems Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent degree is preferred
  • experience/training in Colleague is preferred
  • experience with diverse populations strongly preferred

Position Description

The Registration and Records Specialist supports the Continuing Education Division of the College, with primary responsibilities to the Registration/Records area to ensure that all required documentation is in place to meet compliance review requirements.

 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • process daily cash receipts as needed and prepare balancing sheet for daily closeout
  • verify cashier reports and refunds due
  • issue CE transcripts, grades and enrollment verifications
  • issue billing statements and carry out the collection process
  • ensures compliance with applicable state laws and policies
  • collaborates with the Business Office regarding student accounts
  • prints and distributes student certificates upon request
  • manages and maintains files for Scholarship Funds issued to eligible continuing education students

 

Related Responsibilities:

  • assists in completion of the registration process for non-credit courses
  • assists in non-credit course packet close out procedures according to NC State Code
  • assists with entering CE grades
  • assists with balancing payroll of Continuing Education faculty
  • assists with preparing and reviewing the continuing education ICR
  • assists with duplicate account process
  • serves on committees as assigned by the President
  • assist in the front office as needed and other duties as assigned by the CEC Registrar
