Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a nationally accredited institution required in biological sciences, chemistry, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a closely related STEM discipline.  

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Experience navigating the transfer process from two-year to four-year institutions required. 
  • Strong customer service skills and attention to detail required. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Generally works in a traditional climate-controlled office environment and requires the ability to sit for extended periods. 
  • Some walking, standing, and bending required, and the ability to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 25 pounds required. 
  • Work environment can be stressful at times in dealing with a wide variety of challenges and deadlines.
  • In addition to regular office hours, position sometimes requires overtime and/or evening hours.           

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with undergraduate research preferred. 
  • Understanding of data analysis procedures for grant reporting preferred. 

Position Description

SUMMARY

OPEN UNTIL FILLED - Review of applications will begin 7/5/22

Provide curriculum research and administrative support for the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Examine programs and program information in Datatel Colleague, diagnose trouble areas, and investigate methods to improve efficiency and ensure smoother participant experience in grant-funded programs.
  2. Navigate multiple high security administrative functions in Aviso to monitor participant progress in grant-sponsored programs.
  3. Collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data to assist in meeting grant reporting requirements.
  4. Pull and format project data and perform preliminary analysis for quality/compliance.
  5. Consult with and guide project personnel on implementation of quality initiatives to support grant objectives. Correspond with other educational agencies or institutions to support student transfer and achievement of grant objectives.
  6. Coordinate student support activities including recruitment and application for potential participants. Provide advising, registration, tutoring, graduation, and transfer support for current participants.
  7. Evaluate participant progress towards program completion. 
  8. Assist with student mentoring activities. 
  9. Assist participants and program faculty with student research design, implementation, and dissemination.
  10. Support and assist project personnel with project sponsored events such as the SPARC Professional Development Day and sciVisit.
  11. Maintain a high standard of professionalism in representing the College including confidentiality in all aspects of the position’s responsibilities and adherence to policies, procedures, and other established guidelines.  
  12. Perform other duties incidental to the work described herein.
