Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree is required in one of the following fields: Statistics and/or Research, Business, Information Systems, or a related field. A minimum of one year of experience in research and data analysis is required. The successful candidate must have the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences.
Candidates must have excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication, and writing skills; be highly organized and detail oriented; have the ability to work collaboratively and productively in a team environment; the ability to work independently; knowledge of research design and data analysis; knowledge of best practices in institutional research and operationalizing data to inform decision making; knowledge of databases and data extraction; have advanced Microsoft Excel Skills; and a willingness and ability to learn and use analytical and reporting tools such as Tableau, Entrinsik Informer and SAS.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Ellucian’s Colleague enterprise resource planning system; experience working with large datasets; and familiarity with Community Colleges, Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), and the National Student Clearinghouse is preferred.
Bilingual candidates and those with a National Career Readiness Certificate are preferred.
Position Description
The Research Specialist conducts institutional research, analytic and administrative duties that support the mission of the College, the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, and student success efforts. The Specialist also collaborates with college faculty and staff in developing, collecting, analyzing, and reporting data using standard qualitative and quantitative procedures. This position is grant-funded and is subject to the availability of funds.
