Position Description

The Scheduling & Events Specialist position provides exceptional organizational, communication, and customer service skills to support the full array of scheduling and events needs at the College. This position supports events and activities at the Mary E. Rittling Conference Center and across campus, requiring high energy, a cheerful personality, and enthusiastic support for DCCC's mission, vision, and values.  Responsibilities include:

  • Provides a full range of office operations and services involving the use of judgment and discretion
  • Employs exemplary written and oral communication skills in working with both internal and external clients
  • Demonstrates initiative, problem-solving abilities, strong work ethic, punctuality, and a collaborative, positive attitude in performing duties
  • Coordinates scheduling of internal and external events in the appropriate conference rooms, classrooms, and multi-purpose campus spaces
  • Manages logistical arrangements for events, including room set-up, technology, equipment, supplies, and related needs
  • Works with internal and external clients to review, outline, and document responsibilities and expectations, and to coordinate billing of rental fees
  • Assists with large-scale events such as graduation and campus-wide gatherings
  • Maintains a campus-wide, shared Google calendar for events and activities
  • Coordinates marketing for events as needed, to include invitations, brochures, and related materials
  • Assists in providing staff coverage for events and is flexible with some after-hours assignments as needed; also assists in providing front desk coverage for high-traffic areas of the College as needed
  • Maintains high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Serves on college committees, councils and task forces and attends division and College meetings and events as appropriate
  • Performs other tasks as assigned that support and advance the College and student success
