Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, education, human services, or related area.

Applicant must have excellent human relations skills and be able to work with a variety of individuals (students, instructors, administration, and the general public). Good analytical skills, attention to detail, the ability to communicate effectively, good organizational skills, and the ability to work with deadlines are essential. Advanced computer skills required, including Microsoft office software (Excel, Access and Word), budget, and database management. Weekends, evenings, and occasional overnight travel are part of the work schedule for this position.

Position Description

This is a full-time, 12-month position in the Instructional Support & Student Services Division reporting directly to the Director of Financial Aid.

Implements, coordinates, directs and maintains Foundation scholarship program, including preparation of new scholarship agreements, maintenance and monitoring of existing scholarship agreements, and maintaining regular contact with donors and students.

(Contingent Upon Available Funding)

Core duties will include the following:

• Coordinate the awarding of all institutional scholarships to curriculum students and workforce development and community education students.

• Manage various scholarship programs, such as Step-Up Leadership scholarship program, Presidential scholarship program, and College Promise scholarship program, including:
o promoting the scholarship opportunities
o determining eligibility
o conducting interviews
o collaborating with Career Coaches, Advising Team, and College Foundation
o tracking progress
o coordinating activities, speakers, etc.

• Work closely with the College Foundation; provide outcome reports as needed.

• Advise prospective and enrolled students, parents, and community members on all aspects of financial aid.

• Assist students with completion of FAFSA application and WCC Scholarship application.

• Collaborate with financial aid staff to determine financial aid packages.

• Collaborate with the admissions department in the tracking of admissions and scholarship applications of new students.

• Manage budget for scholarship funds.

• Manage Blackbaud Award Management (BAM) platform. Must obtain and maintain annual certification.

• Chair scholarship committee.

• Collaborate with the marketing department to design and produce various print and digital advertising for the scholarship program.

• Promote institutional scholarship opportunities to students, families, community members, and others at various college, public school, and community events.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid and Dean of Student Services.
