Minimum Qualifications
Associate Degree in Office Administration or a related field or high school diploma supplemented by specialized secretarial training and two years of increasingly responsible clerical experience.
Communication, both oral and written, skills necessary.
Must have efficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). Applicants not meeting this minimum requirement will not be considered for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate Degree in Office Administration or in a related field.

Announcement Summary
Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for a Secretary II position in the Continuing Education College and Career Readiness department. The ability to effectively perform a variety of complex and responsible clerical duties for assigned areas is critical to experiencing success in this position. Expertise in quality customer service is essential. Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences, and a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and possess the ability to see multiple perspectives; be willing to take risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
Duties
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing students and general public with educational information, providing course/program information and college policies.
Typing, processing, and proofreading a variety of reports, letters, memos, and statistical charts; type from rough draft.
Performing routine and complex general clerical work including filing, scheduling appointments, duplication, and processing of information, including statistical analyses of a variety of research topics.
Researching complex problems and discrepancies in records, applications, transcripts, and institutional web pages.
Working with other departments to coordinate events, programs, and schedules; assist in the coordination of appointments, meetings, conferences, and data collection efforts.
Responding to complaints and requests for information regarding College and department policies, rules, procedures and web pages.
Operating a variety of standard office and classroom equipment including computers, scanners, printers, copier equipment, audiovisual technology such as smart boards, document cameras, projectors and tablets.
Corresponding and distributing information and files using the College’s networking system.
Assisting with registration and other customer service activities at centers and other off-campus and on-campus locations.
Verifying time sheets and processing monthly payroll.
Preparing required documentation for continued education courses to include: contracts, professional service agreements, work orders, audio-visual requests, room requests, and purchase orders for supplies, equipment and textbooks.
Creating and preparing marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, handouts, and institutional web pages that are consistent with the College image and branding.
Preparing class registration materials for records and registration office to include cover sheet, data forms and group receipts.
Assisting in preparing and maintaining special reports and budget information for internal and external groups, agencies, and organizations.
Performing related duties as assigned.
