  • An associates degree is required

Minimum Experience: 

  • Prior experience in education. 
  • Experience with online learning.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education/Training:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with course work in education is preferred. 

Preferred Experience: 

  • Prior experience in Academic and Career Readiness (Basic Skills) is desirable. 
  • Prior experience with student data management systems is desirable.   

Additional Requirements

  •  Position requires a schedule that includes evening hours. 
  •  Position involves travel. 

Position Description

DEFINITION 

To perform a variety of administrative duties for the Academic and Career Readiness program, conduct department testing, and assist students in all Academic and Career Readiness programs. 

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED 

  • Receives general supervision from the Director of Academic and Career Readiness. 
  • Exercises no supervision. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

 

ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTION STATEMENTS

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: 

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Oversee workflow in collaboration with coordinators for registration and orientation.
  • Process transcripts for AHS and transfer credits to CFCC transcript. 
  • Advise students and provide class placement.
  • Enter AHS credits and update transcripts. 
  • Process AHS graduate records to New Hanover and Pender County schools. 
  • Assist students and visitors to the department with information about all of our programs. 
  • Proctor testing in the department testing lab. 
  • Assist LEIS Coordinator with data entry and data verification processes.

 

Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

Knowledge of:   

       

  • All Academic and Career Readiness policies and procedures including NRS reporting requirements. 
  • Standardized testing procedures. 
  • State and area agencies associated with Academic and Career Readiness programs. 
  • Knowledge and application of Microsoft Office and Google Suite. 

 

Ability to: 

  • Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. 
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Respond to routine inquiries and requests for information. 
  • Maintain a relationship with a variety of students, instructors, and co-workers conducive to optimal working conditions. 
  • Coordinate work assignments with others. 
  • Respond to a work schedule that includes working some nights each month.
  • Work independently in the absence of direct supervision. 
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully, both orally and in writing. 

 

Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for: 

  • Making observations 
  • Reading and writing 
  • Communicating with others
  • Operating assigned equipment 
  • Traveling to various work locations 
  • Handling varied tasks simultaneously 

 

Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following: 

  • Standing or sitting for extended periods of time 
  • Presenting instructional programs 
  • Operating assigned equipment

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES: 

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
