Minimum Qualifications

Associate Degree from an accredited college with major course work in accounting, computer programming or a closely related field; or equivalent and two years of increasingly responsible general clerical experience including one year of accounting clerical or related experience. Must possess both written and oral communication skills. Must have expert efficiency in Microsoft Office and operational functions of a personal computer

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Title IV Financial Aid Regulations

Computer Programming skills a plus

Position Description

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this full-time position. This position will provide information and assistance to students regarding the school’s Title IV Financial Aid program. Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer programming skills, accounting skills, communication skills both written and oral and organizational skills. The appropriate candidate should possess exemplary customer service skills and will coordinate activities with other college divisions, federal and state agencies, institutions and various lenders. The candidate will also perform various other duties as assigned.



The successful candidate will:

Exhibit exemplary customer services skills

Program rules and setups for the Financial Aid website, Ellucian operating system and third party products

Verify and analyze account information

Interpret and explain College policies and procedures relating to Financial Aid

Maintain various accounting records and reports for the College’s financial aid program including grants, loans, scholarships and default management.

Serve as a liaison between students, College personnel, other colleges, lenders, and guarantee agencies to meet the needs of all groups and to resolve issues.

Process financial aid awards, input data, assign account codes, making adjusting entries, and balance assigned funds and accounts.

Prepare applicable financial aid reports related to assigned area of responsibility.

Conduct account analysis and reconcile differences.

Perform related duties as assigned.
