Minimum Qualifications

Associate Degree in Simulation & Game Development, Animation, Digital Media or related field.

Have proficient experience with Autodesk Entertainment Suite (Maya, Mudbox, & MotionBuilder), Adobe Creative Suite, (Photoshop, Animate, After Effects, and Premiere), Unity, and Unreal. Skilled in 3D modeling, C# programming, 2D & 3D animation, level design, storyboard design, video editing, photo editing, and illustration.

Communication, both oral and written, skills necessary. Must have expert efficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Simulation & Game Development, Animation, Digital Media or related field.

Teaching experience at the community college or four-year college. On-line teaching experience.

Two years or more of related work experience.

3D Animation experience in Autodesk Maya, including posing and animating 3D rigged characters, creating rigs using Human IK, and rendering techniques. Experience web design, HTML, and CSS.

Announcement Summary

Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this full-time instructor position.

The Simulation and Game Development curriculum provides a broad background in simulation and game development with practical applications in creative arts, visual arts, audio and video technology, creative writing, modeling, design, programming and management. Course work includes hands-on training in design, 3D modeling, software engineering, database administration and programming for the purpose of creating simulations and games.

The Digital Media program prepares students for entry-level jobs in the digital design and multimedia industry. Students learn to synthesize multimedia, hypertext, computer programming, information architecture, and client/server technologies using both Internet and non-network-based media.

Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of a career that includes flexibility and willingness to change; open-mindedness, fairness and the ability to see multiple perspectives; a willingness to take risks, and willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.


Provide quality instruction for face-to-face and online classes to include days, evenings, and weekends both on and off campus.

Incorporate latest instructional technologies and interactive learning technologies in course delivery.

Provide quality customer service to students, faculty and staff.

Recruit students for the FTCC programs.

Advise students in the Digital Media and Simulation & Game Development programs.

Monitor and improve student retention.

Provide input on program review, assessment, and other departmental activities.

Periodically evaluate and develop new courses. Revise and update existing courses for relevancy and currency consistent with the role and mission of the college.

Maintain face-to-face and/or online classroom environments conducive to student learning, engagement and retention.

Maintain accurate scholastic and membership records of students enrolled in classes and prepare and submit reports as required.

Continually develop and improve skills through professional development.

Participate in faculty committees and other activities, as assigned.
