Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.  Excellent verbal and written communicate skills to effectively engage with clients, students, faculty and staff.  Proficient in Microsoft applications.    

Preferred Qualifications

Meet minimum requirements and have marketing experience related to new customer recruitment.

Position Description

 

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Provide active community outreach to the Small Business Center (SBC) by recruiting aspiring entrepreneurs and existing business owners in Haywood County to participate in SBC services, including one-on-one advising and seminar attendance.

*This position will be scheduled for up to 29 hours per week*

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Support community outreach plan and build relationships with local college and community partners by attending local and regional events to help recruit SBC Clients.
  • Serve as a program liaison for the SBC, representing the program in the community, increasing public knowledge of the educational opportunities and services offered by the SBC.
  • Employ marketing analytics techniques to gather data (social media, web analytics, performance metrics, etc.) to engage with target audience.
  • Assist in developing effective email and social media marketing content, including newsletters, writing press releases, success stories, and articles for publication.
  • Serve as public-facing resource and assist Director with response to inquiries, completing intakes, and sharing information on current SBC programs and services.
  • Provide logistical support and planning for training events and workshops, including calendar coordination, event promotion, registration support, event reconciliation, and reporting.  
  • Assist in dissemination, collection and remittance of Personal Service Agreements for contracted services. 
  • Prepare reports and documentation necessary to support college and program accreditation and reporting requirements.  
  • Maintains strict adherence to confidentiality of student, personnel, and SBC client information. 
  • Contribute to the overall success of the SBC by remaining competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, and attending annual professional development sessions and trainings.
  • Work independently while also contributing to a team effort when needed.  
  • Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.    
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Operation of college-owned vehicles.
