Position Description
GENERAL FUNCTION
The Small Engine Repair instructor will provide students with an understanding of small engine operation principles through disassembling, inspecting and reassembling gasoline engines. Training will focus on the principles of four-stroke and two-stroke engines including the various systems that are found on lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws and edgers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: classroom instruction, delivery of project-based learning activities, assessments, examinations and grading.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and update course materials/outlines based on industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records and submit documentation according to college requirements.
- Create an effective learning environment through the use of handouts, texts, audiovisual media and project-based instruction.
- Evaluate student progress through assessments, examinations and grading.
