- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher), WordPress, and Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign and Photoshop)
- Ability to understand and review analytics related to website traffic, social media and other digital tools
Position Description
Description:
The Marketing & Communications Specialist will provide technical, administrative, operational and managerial support for the marketing and communications efforts at Davidson-Davie Community College, which fall within the division of External Affairs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills, creative insight, and the ability to work independently and under tight deadlines. This position reports to the Director, Multimedia Strategies and has the following responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
Identifies newsworthy topics, individuals, and events to promote through various channels and produces high-quality written narrative for print media and social media
Captures photos and videos at campus events and for promoting the institution, to supplement college’s professional photography
Manages internal requests for marketing and communications projects, including the delivery of template-based projects and small publications
Coordinates with outside creative firm to deliver high-profile projects for external audiences, including student recruitment
Collaborates with campus-wide Marketing & Communications Steering Committee to set strategic and brand direction
Coordinates administrative requirements in relation to vendors, contracts and partnerships
Maintains high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds
Performs other duties as assigned that achieve the mission and initiatives of the college
