Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree;
2. One year of full-time or equivalent experience working in a workforce development setting;
3. Experience working in the NCWorks system or equivalent system.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Global Career Development Facilitator Certificate;
2. Experience developing and presenting employment and training workshops;
3. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.

Position Description

Job Description Summary

Serves as a resource to customers by conducting initial assessments to identify skill development services available to assist with career opportunities. Provides information on work opportunities, create plans to build skills to meet those opportunities, and assist customers by making referrals to skill building workshops and individual training programs. Provides outreach on WIOA Title I job training programs and financial assistance for classroom training. Determines program eligibility, take applications and enroll eligible individuals meeting program guidelines in WIOA Title I training. Conducts workshops on WIOA Title I job training programs, as well as job seeking skills development topics such as interviewing, resume writing, completing online applications and networking.

Duties

1. Determines WIOA Title I program eligibility, takes applications and enrolls eligible individuals meeting program guidelines in WIOA Title I training.
2. Enters all WIOA Title I eligibility, application and enrollment information required in ncworks.gov. Gathers all documentation required before and during program participation and either store or submit as required by state and federal guidelines.
3. Provides case management for WIOA Title I participants including support during completion of training, job search and job placement assistance, and career development advising.
4. Manages client accounts so that training monies are evenly disbursed throughout the training time and maintains WIOA Title I student expense workbook to track expenditures each semester.
5. Conducts Welcomes (new Center customer registration), as well as RESEA and EAI review meetings, registers new customers in ncworks.gov and demonstrates the job search, resume building and labor market information features of NCWorks online.
6. Introduces customers to various skills development services available at the Center including job seeking skills workshops and applicable career assessment activities to identify interests, work values, personality type and current skill levels and assist in career exploration and decision making process.
7. Assists in career exploration and decision making process by discussing assessment outcomes and providing labor market information so customers can make informed, realistic choices on where to begin their job search or if training is needed.
8. Conducts workshops on WIOA Title I job training programs, as well as job seeking skills development topics such as interviewing, resume writing, completing online applications and networking.     
9. Performs marketing functions using Microsoft Word and Publisher to develop flyers, Constant Contact for group emails, and various social media platforms.
10. Processes Federal Line Grants (FLG) requests.
11. Engages in employer focus groups, meeting, labor market research, and job/career fairs as needed.
12. Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and Welcoming College statement.
13. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
