Position Description
Assist students with wrap-around student support services. Connect students to various student supports such as, but not limited to, financial aid, scholarships, grants, mental health counseling, and food pantry resources. Provide assistance to students in filling out admissions applications, Residency Determination, and financial aid applications. Possess strong computer skills to assist students with accessing various student support resources and applications. Provide excellent customer service skills. This position will report to the Dean of Advising.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide support to students in the following areas:
- Student online admissions application
- Residency Determination Service (RDS)
- Financial Aid, Scholarships, Grants
- Self-Service
- Student log-in Information
- Student Email
- Canvas
- Connect students with campus resources (Success Coaches, counselors, Student Services, etc.)
- Aid students with bookstore needs
- Assist with Student Resource Center
- Promote career exploration services to students
- Direct students to the Student Assistance Program (SAP)
OTHER DUTIES:
- Greet and welcome students.
- Inquire about and discuss goals.
- Daily front-desk activities: in-person, e-mail, phone, and chat inquiries and SCC social networks.
- Provide an honest, safe, confidential, and respectful environment where students can ask questions, express concerns, and discuss interests.
- Make student, faculty, and staff ID badges.
- Put together welcome packets for mailing.
