Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in a relevant field such as marketing
- At least 5 years’ experience in sales and marketing.
The successful candidate must have the following knowledge and skills:
- A strong, detail-oriented work ethic, with the ability to juggle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment and to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office software (Excel and Word), budget and database management.
- Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills; ability to amicably accept direction and constructive criticism and to follow up with contacts until the job is completed.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work events as needed. May involve nights and weekend.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as marketing
Position Description
This is a full-time 12-month position. The Sponsorship Specialist will secure sponsorship for Office of Institutional Advancement, which includes WCC Foundation events such as MerleFest, Development, and College Marketing. The position will report to the MerleFest Festival Director.
The Sponsorship Specialist will support the mission and vision of the college through behaviors that reflect and integrate the college’s values while maintaining the highest standards for personal integrity and stewardship of resources.
Job Duties
- Secure and manage sponsorships for all WCC Foundation & Designated College Events
- MerleFest
- Henry Moore Scholarship Golf Classic
- WAW Scholarship Golf Tournament
- Scholarship Gala
- Other WCC Foundation fundraising events
- Walker Center season show program ad campaign. Attend dinner before each season show with season show sponsor.
2. Manage and solicit prizes for all development events silent auctions and raffles (MerleFest
Mega Raffle).
3. Manage and coordinate cross-event sponsorships and logistics.
4. Lead Foundation Sponsorship Team.
5. Responsible for sponsor data on the Website (MerleFest, WCC give page, Walker Center).
6. Maintain event sponsors and related databases.
7. Works with the Executive Director of WCC Foundation in the following areas:
* Donor relations, correspondence, cultivation, & recognition
8. Participate in professional and local community service organizations.
9. Represent WCC Foundation/Development and WCC at selected professional conferences.
10. Other related duties, training, and development as assigned by the supervisor.
