Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
Two years of responsible experience in an applicable sports information or media production field. Experience writing articles/posts, capturing quality photos/video for sports and events, use of social media graphics, and streaming of athletic events.
Training:
An Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in sports information, communications, journalism, media production, photography, or a related field; or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in one of the above disciplines is preferred.
Position Description
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assisting the Athletics staff with coverage of all sports; serving as the primary media contact for Athletics.
Producing online team record books/media guides, game notes, news releases related to each game and site.
Compiling statistics; generating feature content photo/video/stories and other unique coverage for the FTCC Athletic Program.
Establish and maintain positive relations with media through strong interpersonal communication skills.
Independently operate cameras, iPads, computers, and related visual support devices.
Assist in facilitating social media in line with department goals.
Maintain copies of media releases and social media postings related to College Athletics.
Creating a database of current and former student athlete information.
Responsible for the use and creation of graphics with Adobe Creative Suite and Score Shots applications.
Responsible for posting on all social media platforms to include Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.
Responsible for updating, editing, and occasional maintenance of the athletics website.
Responsible for effectively serving as a contact for the NJCAA and Region 10 for assigned sports.
Perform related duties as assigned.
