Minimum Qualifications
Required: Master’s degree in Student Development, Counseling, Recreation, Communications, Administration, Education or related social sciences, business or human services area; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; organizational skills and creativity to develop programming; working knowledge of advising and student support best practices; computer skills necessary for working with student data files and budget documents; and professional experience using social media.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred: minimum one year of experience in Student Activities, experience working with individuals or groups in a postsecondary institution or recreational setting; experience with large group/event programming and risk management.
Position Description
May 15, 2023, or as soon as possible pending availability of funds.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Primary duties include planning and carrying out a variety of student activities and educational programs, providing guidance/support to student organizations and club advisors, advising the Student Government Association, offering student leadership development opportunities and programs, and managing the student activities budget. In addition, the position will focus on providing retention support for students in selected areas. Additional responsibilities include general success coaching and advising, and other related student development functions. Some evening and weekend hours required.
