Blue Ridge Community College is currently seeking applications for a part time Student Affairs Specialist. The Student Affairs Specialist will provide support services in the areas of advising and assessment in English Language Acquisition and Adult Basic and Secondary Education programs.
Education: High School diploma or equivalency required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Experience and comfort with administering/proctoring assessments preferred but will train. Experience working with diverse populations required.
Knowledge and Skills: The successful candidate will be a quick learner and possess strong personal and professional integrity. The candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to safety. Must have ability to interpret TABE 11-12 and CLAS-E assessment results and assist students with setting, modifying and evaluating SMART goals. Must be proficient with technology and working in G Suite. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
Physical Demands: The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to, lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
