Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (must be from a regionally accredited institution)
1-2 years of work experience in a related area within a higher education setting
Basic Budget Management experience
Experience planning and organizing events
Experience working with a diverse student population
Proficient with Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Meets, Slides), Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint),
and Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a community college setting preferred
Knowledge of Campus Labs Engage software preferred.
Proven leadership ability in working with students preferred
Position Description
The Student Life Coordinator position is a part-time (29 or less hours per week) reporting to the Director of Student Life. The Coordinator will assist in organizing, planning, and executing a wide variety of co- curricular programs designed to promote student retention and success. The Student Life Coordinator’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Assist with planning, managing, and implementing programs and activities that enrich the student collegiate experience.
Responsible for booking and contracting with entertainment agencies, speakers, and vendors for Davidson and Davie campuses.
Work with the business and finance office to coordinate payments and other event logistics for Student Life events.
At the direction of the Director of Student Life serves as co-advisor and budget manager to the Student Government Association and attend SGA meetings, events, conferences, and leadership retreats.
Work some evenings and weekends and travel to student conferences and events as required.
Create and edit student flyers, posters, literature and other materials prepared by student groups for distribution as well as manage SGA social media accounts.
Coordinate travel arrangements for student life and student government including submitting travel authorization forms, securing accommodations, and making reservations.
Assist with the day to day oversight of the food pantry, including but not limited to; stocking shelves, training volunteers, client in-take, data collection, and food inventory.
Coordinate and/or implement special projects as needed and/or assigned by supervisor.
Attend college meetings and serve on college committees as appropriate.
Perform other tasks as assigned that support the mission and initiatives of the Office of Student Life and the College.
