Two (2) years' experience in customer service, marketing and/or recruitment.

Valid NC drivers' license.

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Student Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for managing and facilitating student recruitment by developing, implementing and executing programs and initiatives for contacting, visiting and informing prospective students of Craven Community College programs, culture, mission and campus life. This position develops and implements recruiting plans and participates in outreach events to ensure enrollment goals are met regarding applications, acceptances and enrolled students. This position also conducts research, prepares formal reports and recommends new strategies for increasing enrollment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees recruitment in Craven County and serves as a member of the admissions team, supporting all functions during critical times
  • Assists new students with the enrollment process, career exploration, financial aid and scholarship application processes, placement testing, new student orientation and registration
  • Tracks prospective student interest and engagement through application and enrollment, providing data and noting trends in student inquiries and interest
  • Contacts, visits and informs prospective high school, adult and transfer students about the College's curriculum and workforce development programs
  • Articulates the College's mission to a variety of groups; acts as a liaison between the College and area high school staff, students, parents, alumni, corporations and/or governmental agencies
  • Maintains a steady flow of communication with prospective students and applied students through various methods, to establish and foster relationships
  • Participates in classroom visitations at local high schools, career and college fairs and other events to promote College programs
  • Schedules campus tours for individuals and groups to visit the College
  • Develops and coordinates recruitment events designed for the military population and online learners
  • Visits area businesses and industries to discuss educational opportunities with employees
  • Assists in the identification of target groups in consultation with administrators and academic departments for comprehensive student recruitment and outreach activities on and off campus
  • Collaborates with department chairs, coordinators, high school counselors, career development coordinators, principals, etc. to identify opportunities for growth and transitioning of students
  • Engages potential students, counselors, faculty, parents and other stakeholders in information sessions related to scholarship, career opportunities, college success and enrollment opportunities through partnerships with College programs and services
  • Coordinates with Career Programs in sharing information regarding apprenticeships and internships for incoming students
  • Participates in appropriate committees and task forces as assigned
  • Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College's mission, core values and goals

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.

Two (2) years' experience in customer service, marketing and/or recruitment.

  • Knowledge of college policies and procedures, academic requirements, campus resources, financial aid, student life and support services
  • Knowledge of community, current student and potential student demographics and other data used in planning recruitment campaigns
  • Knowledge of marketing and sales techniques
