Position Description

This position greets faculty, staff, students, and visitors; directing in-person and telephone inquiries to the appropriate Student Services or College staff member.  The Student Service Generalist will respond to general questions about the College's academic programs, and the enrollment processes.  This person provides administrative support to the Admission, Advising, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Testing departments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • ensure the reception area is welcoming, organized, and stocked with current forms and documents
  • provide students with status updates regarding their enrollment
  • manage student's requests for records (e.g. transcripts)
  • collect, scan, and copy student enrollment documents; checking for accuracy and ensuring students have submitted appropriate requirements
  • manage the reception area's check-in system
  • respond to all voicemails and admission e-mails as time permits
  • provide general information on how to apply for financial aid
  • assist staff with the scheduling of appointments
  • in collaboration with Student Services Staff, provide accurate information regarding the College's procedures
  • assist with placement testing processes as needed
  • monitor level of other supplies (i.e. MCC view books, individual program brochures, etc.)
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
