Position Description
Job Summary:
To serve as a Student Services professional, guiding students into and throughout a successful college experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides friendly, timely, and accurate customer service and information to students and staff
• Helps students navigate onboarding, registration, and college processes
• Provides indirect and direct admissions’ information and assistance
• Provides indirect and direct basic advising to prospective, new, and current students under the supervision of full-time advisors, i.e. how to use four-year guides, program evaluations, and program sequencing, request change of major, add or drop classes, access student supports, etc.
• Assesses students’ basic needs and interests
• Uses a pathway approach to help students create or clarify productive educational and career goals
• Utilization of college software to assist students with progress
• Facilitates onboarding events in person and online at different campuses
• Facilitates other activities including virtual meetings, student workshops, and staff trainings
• Provides general academic and student support through technology and on campuses
• Represents the college at events and open houses
• Assists Special Credit, Visiting, Special Studies’ students through the enrollment process including course registration
• Performs other duties as assigned

Surroundings/Environment:
Standard office environment, usually indoors away from the elements, with moderate noise.
Physical Effort:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to maintain a stationary position for an extended period; move about the office, operate and position computers and files, as needed; and frequently communicate with others. The employee may occasionally move up to 15 pounds. Work may include operation of a motor vehicle.
Scheduling:
This is a part-time position working approximately 20-29 hours a week. Normal working hours will be between 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 am – 4:00pm on Friday; however must be available to work Saturdays and evenings as needed.
Travel:
Local travel is required, including between campus locations. Out of state travel is limited, but may be required for special trainings/conferences.
