Blue Ridge Community College is currently seeking applications for two Success Coach positions. The Success Coach serves as the main point of contact for an assigned group of students to guide them to achieve academic success. The Coach works to counsel, motivate, assess student needs, goals, and interests, and review prior academic experience. Coaches use a review of predictive analytical data to provide targeted outreach efforts to students who fall into an at-risk category. Coaches provide a high level of customer service support and ensure students are made aware of all available college resources to assist them in achieving academic success. 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in education, counseling, human services, or a related field Preferred Master's degree in counseling, higher ed, or related field OR bachelor's degree plus at least three years of related experience

Experience: Min. one year of experience in counseling, advising, or related area, required; Experience working in a community college or higher education setting preferred.

Knowledge and Skills: The ideal person will possess strong personal and professional integrity, effective verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to safety. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite or similar products, database systems, College email and website, and other computer applications associated with the position.

Physical Demands: The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
